Fed: Gov to develop national litter management scheme:Rudd

The federal government's working on a national litter management scheme .. to reduce
plastic bag use.

The nation's environment ministers failed at a meeting yesterday to agree on a specific
scheme to reduce the number of plastic bags we use.

Prime Minister KEVIN RUDD says although the states and territories are free to adopt
different strategies .. the federal government wants to develop a national litter scheme.
