Fed: Medicare will be left with problems - Bartlett

Australian Democrats Leader ANDREW BARTLETT says the major parties are focused on
exploiting Medicare for political gain.

The Democrats have yet to state their position on Medicare reforms which the government
is hoping to pass with the support of four Independent Senators.

Senator BARTLETT says there are still a lot of problems that aren't addressed by the
government reforms.

He says both Labor and the Liberals have their eye more on how Medicare will work for
them in electoral terms than they do on how they can help the Australian public.
