FED: Sydney pilot named world s top helicopter pilot

An Australian pilot has been named the world's top helicopter pilot for saving seven
sailors' lives in just 30 minutes in a dramatic sea rescue two years ago.

Sydney helicopter pilot, 50-year-old DAN TYLER, was the pilot-in-command of a helicopter
whose crew plucked seven survivors from a sinking yacht battling wild conditions in the
ill-fated 1998 Sydney to Hobart race.

The veteran pilot of 30 years has been named Helicopter Pilot of the Year by the Helicopter
